The primary role is to analyze, design, install, configure, maintain and repair the network infrastructure and application components and to provide direction, information and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and deploy complex switching environments and wireless networks that provide secure access while supporting voice and video applications.
Configure and maintain Cisco firewalls, VPN concentrators, and other security appliances to provide secure access to mission-critical applications.
Maintain network security through the proper configuration and management of firewalls, VPNs, and other security controls.
Install, configure, and maintain the Local Area Network (LAN), including switches, structured cabling, power provisioning, and related network infrastructure.
Assist in the design and implementation of multi-server environments, including IP addressing schemes, DNS, and WINS configuration.
Provide technical support and assistance to internal staff, vendors, and partner agencies.
Maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, throughput, and timely upgrades.
Plan, test, evaluate, and implement network upgrades and enhancements to improve system performance and reliability.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all network infrastructure, configurations, and implementations.
Ensure effective maintenance of enterprise hardware, including servers, storage systems, switches, routers, and UPS equipment.
Troubleshoot network hardware, software applications, IP telephony systems, and security systems to resolve issues and restore normal operations.
Support the organization's internal networks, disaster recovery (DR) site, integration points, internet connectivity, and data communication links to ensure continuous availability and reliability.
Ensure all infrastructure changes and maintenance activities are carried out with minimal disruption to existing ICT services.
Assist in managing and tracking ICT infrastructure assets while ensuring infrastructure and organizational data remain secure.
Ensure technology is implemented, managed, and supported in accordance with organizational ICT standards, policies, and procedures.
Perform any other duties reasonably assigned that are consistent with the responsibilities and level of this role.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Professional certification such as CCNA, CCNP, CCVP, or an equivalent VoIP certification.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) implementation, configuration, and support.
Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
