Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting timely delivery of human resource plans, data management, and operations in the assigned Business Units.
Responsibilities
Support effective implementation of human resource policies, plans, and procedures.
Support forecasting and planning of the talent pipeline in line with business strategy.
Participate in recruitment processes to ensure optimal staffing and capability development.
Manage HR projects as outlined in the annual HR operational plan and support cross-functional initiatives.
Provide HR advisory services to Heads of Departments, Managers, and Supervisors across areas such as talent management, employee development, performance management, employee relations, and change management.
Assist in labour relations initiatives by ensuring compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements and organizational policies.
Develop and monitor workforce statistics including staffing needs, turnover, leave, and absenteeism.
Ensure leave plans are properly developed and adhered to in consultation with Heads of Departments.
Maintain an efficient HR filing system, including staff records and data management.
Monitor probation periods and submit monthly probation reports to the supervisor before expiry.
Support payroll administration processes.
Maintain contract expiry records and notify supervisors in advance for timely action.
Track active employees and process contract renewals, terminations, and separations as required.
Assist in onboarding, induction, and orientation of new employees, ensuring awareness of HR policies and code of conduct.
Ensure all staff maintain valid professional licenses and required regulatory documentation for compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or any other business-related field from a recognized institution.
Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) qualification or Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from a recognized institution.
Membership with the Institute of Human Resources Management (IHRM).
Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as an HR generalist, preferably in a comparable institution.
Good awareness of the internal and external industrial environment with ability to adapt to changing Employee Relations (ER) demands and conditions.
Strong quality management and customer service orientation.
Knowledge of best and current human resource practices and approaches.
Sound understanding of Kenyan Labour Laws and HR compliance requirements.
