The CBC-aligned ECDE Teacher is responsible for facilitating competency-based learning experiences for young learners. The role emphasizes nurturing foundational skills, values, and attitudes through interactive, learner-centered approaches that prepare children for lifelong learning.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver daily lessons that integrate CBC strands, including literacy, numeracy, environmental activities, psychomotor skills, and social development.
Facilitate learner-centered activities that encourage exploration, discovery, creativity, and problem-solving rather than rote memorization.
Use formative assessment tools to evaluate learners' competencies, skills, attitudes, and values in line with CBC requirements.
Collaborate with parents and guardians to support learners’ competency development and learning progress at home.
Integrate national values, life skills, and social responsibility into daily classroom routines and learning activities.
Implement play-based, project-based, and experiential learning approaches to enhance competency acquisition and learner engagement.
Maintain accurate learner portfolios, progress reports, assessment records, and other documentation in accordance with CBC guidelines.
Requirements
Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) from a recognized institution.
Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Training in Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) implementation and practical classroom application.
Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in an ECDE setting.
